Our Story
The idea for Kulture Coffee began in 2012, when Jake was living in Sydney and landed a job as a barista at an awesome coffee shop, right next to Manly Beach. Before starting that job, Jake had no interest in coffee; he didn't like it and didn't understand coffee. He'd grown up in Sheffield, and back then, speciality coffee shops hadn't made their way that far up north yet.
Sydney, on the other hand, was alive with brilliant cafes, all over, serving exceptional coffees from around the world. To put it bluntly, that barista job changed Jake's life, and his passion for coffee was born.
Jake would spend his days at work, learning all he could about coffee and its origins, and on his days off, he explored the hundreds of amazing coffee shops around Sydney. And one thing was clear to him: coffee is so much more than just a drink to wake you up. It can be elegant and complex, and it can underpin a community. Coffee shops are social beacons within their neighbourhoods, they bring people together. Jake knew, when he came back to the UK, he had a dream to create a coffee brand that instils all the amazing things about Sydney's cafe culture.
And thus, Kulture Coffee was born.
