The region of Huehuetenango is one of Guatemala's best for growing high-quality coffee plants. The combination of non-volcanic soil, high altitude, and cool air descending from the Cuchumatanes mountains create a micro-climate perfect for undisturbed coffee production.

Despite the remoteness of the region, many local producers are able to set up coffee mills due to the abundant rivers and streams scattered around the region. The results are a supply of handpicked and strictly high grown arabica beans known for their distinct fruity and acidic flavor notes.
