While Yemen owns the world’s first historical record of coffee being drank as we know it today, we know the beans were brought from the Coffea Arabica plants in Ethiopia over the Red Sea. It should come as no surprise then that the birthplace of coffee is world-renowned for its orchestras of premium varieties. With this in mind at Kulture Coffee, we absolutely had to have the Sidamo region in our collection.
Lying just south of Ethiopia’s capital, Sidamo is the most fruitful for prime growth in the entire country, returning consistently high-value crops year on year. High elevations, fertile soil, ideal temperatures and generous rainfalls coalesce in a climate with a gift for growing great tasting coffee.
Kulture Coffee’s medium, hand-roasted profile reveals a wonderfully complex shimmer of sweet lemon and floral notes characteristic of Ethiopian beans, complimented by a bright acidity which is evenly mellowed by a good body and mouthfeel.
